Description

The low country of the southeast coastal regions is alive with color and light. Bonnie and I were enthralled with the early morning light, the humid atmosphere, the birds, the artistic and abstract designs of the marsh and water patterns as they interacted, and the vast amounts of LOW-COUNTRY land around the area. From Charleston to Savannah, marshes invade the land and create so many beautiful settings we just couldn’t soak it all up. I was excited to try to put it all in a painting, and I combined a few of my favorite photos focusing on the atmospheric conditions of the coast, the morning sunrise, the hopeful crew on the shrimp boat headed out for a catch, and the myriad birds which would benefit from their endeavors. All in the day of LOW-COUNTRY LIFE.
